After completing her initial academic pursuits, she decided to take her education to the next level by pursuing a Honours program in Creative Writing at the renowned University of the Witwatersrand, a prestigious institution that offered her the ideal environment to hone her writing skills and explore her creative potential.
Following the successful completion of her Honours program, she continued her academic journey by enrolling in a Master of Arts degree program in Film at the same esteemed institution, further solidifying her expertise in the field of film and providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the various aspects of filmmaking.
Mvusi's professional trajectory has been characterized by a significant focus on television writing, with a concurrent foray into the realm of short film creation as part of the National Film and Video Foundation's (NFVF) Women in Film initiative.
She brought forth a short film titled THE STATE, which made its debut in the year 2013, marking a notable milestone in her creative endeavors.
Her inaugural appearance in a feature film, FAREWELL ELLA BELLA, caused a considerable commotion by making its world premiere in the highly respected competition category at the renowned Zanzibar International Film Festival, a premier event in the global film industry, and the equally prestigious Durban International Film Festival, a prominent platform showcasing the best of international cinema.
