Lydia Kandou is a talented Indonesian actress and model who has made a remarkable and lasting impression in the film and television industry, leaving a trail of memorable performances in her wake. Her feature film debut was a significant milestone, occurring in 1979 when she was just 16 years old, in Has Manan's critically acclaimed "Wanita Segala Zaman". Following this early success, Lydia went on to act in over 20 films during the next five years, a remarkable feat that showcased her incredible range and versatility as a performer.

Kandou's impressive acting career throughout the 1980s was marked by numerous film appearances, garnering her two additional Citra Award nominations.

As the decade drew to a close, Kandou's big break arrived in 1990, when she landed the lead role in Nyak Abbas Akup's critically acclaimed film "Boneka dari Indiana". This pivotal performance earned her her first ever Citra Award, a testament to her remarkable talent.

The following year, Kandou continued to dazzle audiences with her versatility, starring in the film "Ramadhan dan Ramona". Her outstanding portrayal in this film earned her yet another Citra Award, further solidifying her position as a leading lady in Indonesian cinema.
