Lynda Bird Johnson Robb, the elder daughter of the 36th President of the United States, Lyndon B. Johnson, and his wife, the former First Lady, Lady Bird Johnson, was born on March 19, 1944.
As a notable figure, Lynda served as the chairwoman of the Board of Reading is Fundamental, the largest children's literacy organization in the nation, as well as the chairwoman of the President's Advisory Committee for Women.
In addition to her philanthropic work, Lynda also pursued a career in magazine editing and held the position of First Lady of Virginia from 1982 to 1986, and subsequently served as Second Lady of Virginia from 1978 to 1982.
