Margaret Evelyn Greenwood was born and raised in the vibrant city of Toronto, where she nurtured her passion for dance and martial arts from a young age. She pursued her interest in dance by studying it in school, and her proficiency in martial arts further solidified her well-rounded skills.
In addition to her dance and martial arts training, Greenwood also explored her creative side by attending various voice and musical theater schools in Canada. Her extensive training in acting was honed at multiple esteemed institutions, including the "Professional Actors Lab", "Jason Fraser Studios", "Etobicoke School of the Arts", and the "University Settlement Drama Group".
In 2006, Greenwood earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the prestigious University of Toronto. She made her foray into the world of film with a role in the low-budget Canadian movie Pinkville. Her television debut came with an episode of The Listener, and she went on to make numerous guest appearances on popular shows such as Rookie Blue, Flashpoint, Being Erica, Covert Affairs, Lost Girl, and Saving Hope.
Greenwood's talents were also showcased in short films like Little Phoenix and the Fists of Fury, and as the character Jen in The Exit, which she fondly regards as her favorite role. Her career received a significant boost in 2011 when she was cast in a recurring role as Sonya on the hit CW series Nikita. Her outstanding performance led to her retention for seasons 3 and 4.
In August 2013, Greenwood landed a recurring role on FOX's Sleepy Hollow, and in January 2014, she was promoted to series regular for season 2. Throughout her illustrious career, Greenwood has consistently demonstrated her versatility and range as an actress, effortlessly transitioning between film, television, and stage.
