Maaike Neuville is a talented Belgian actress and director born in 1983. She graduated from Studio Herman Teirlinck in Antwerp in 2005, which marked the beginning of her successful career.
Maaike's early work consisted of various short and feature films, including Dennis van Rita, Dirty Mind, Droomtijd, Of Cats & Women, and Code 37 - the movie. She also played lead characters in De Indringer, Swooni, and Weekend aan Zee.
In addition to her film work, Maaike has also appeared in French-speaking films such as Get Born and Avec ma mère à la mer, as well as international productions like Goltzius & The Pelican Company and Let Me Survive.
Maaike is also a well-known television actress, having played roles in successful drama-series like Katarakt, The Emperor of Taste, Van Vlees en Bloed, and Clan.
On stage, she has performed with various theatre groups, including Compagnie Marius since 2009.
In 2010, Maaike directed her first short film, Way Back, which earned her an invitation to the Talent Campus at the Berlinale. Her subsequent short film, Sonnet 81, won several awards and continues to travel to festivals worldwide.
Maaike continues to combine her acting and directing work, drawing from her experiences on both sides of the camera.
Apart from her native Flemish, Maaike is also fluent in French and English, and has a basic understanding of German and Spanish. In 2009, she took a dance workshop with Julie Stanzak from Tanztheater Wuppertal.
