Maggie Egan, a renowned actress also known as Maggie Egan-Cummings, was born and raised in Upstate New York. Her father, Bill Egan, was a successful Real Estate Broker, and her mother, Mary Joan Egan, held a Bachelor of Science degree and two Master's degrees, serving as the Superintendent of the School Library system.
Growing up in a lively household with three older sisters, Maggie was an energetic and creative individual. At the tender age of 14, she landed her first role as Mrs. Barker in the play "The American Dream," courtesy of her high school teacher, Dan DiNicola, which sparked her passion for acting.
Maggie pursued her passion by studying acting and filmmaking in college and later moved to Houston, where she honed her craft under the guidance of Chris Wilson. In Los Angeles, she studied with renowned acting coaches, including Gordon Hunt, Helen Hunt's father, Chuck Marra, Megan Foley Marra, Andy Goldberg, and Val Hubbard's Actors Fast Track.
Maggie's big break came when Steve Stark, current President of TV Productions and Development at MGM/UA, discovered her and brought her to Los Angeles, where she met and married her husband, Jim Cummings, a Chicago native. Together, they have a daughter who is an event planner at Pepperdine University.
Throughout her illustrious career, Maggie has accumulated over 50 TV and film credits, including 600+ commercials for The Disney Channel and various other companies. She is also an accomplished playwright and screenwriter, currently working on two feature scripts.
The first script, a romantic comedy, is set in Los Angeles and Ireland and follows a fun sister's road trip to the Emerald Isle, complete with corned beef and baggage. This project is co-written with Jennifer Lynn O'Hara.
The second script is a female-driven spy comedy set in Las Vegas, co-written with Melanie Collup. Despite being "a woman of a certain age," Maggie remains an unstoppable force in the entertainment industry, continuing to create and inspire with her remarkable talents.
