Maggie Kirkpatrick is a renowned Australian television actress who has made a lasting impact on the entertainment industry with her versatility and extensive experience in film, television, and theatre.
Her most iconic role to date is that of Prison Guard Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson on the legendary Australian television drama, Prisoner, which aired from 1979. Her other notable roles include a stint on the popular Australian soap opera, Home and Away, as Viv 'The Guv' Standish in 1988, as well as appearances in films such as Welcome to Woop Woop in 1997, The Pirate Movie in 1982, and Voyage Into Fear in 1993.

However, Maggie's life took a dramatic turn in 2015 when she was charged with a historic offense and spent the next year fighting to prove her innocence. Despite the challenges she faced, Maggie was ultimately found innocent and spoke out against the media coverage of the case, labeling it "bad journalism" and criticizing the media for its inability to separate fiction from reality.
In the aftermath of the legal battle, Maggie was diagnosed with PTSD and took a nine-year hiatus from television. However, she returned to the screen in 2017 with a starring role in the Australian comedy mini-series, The Letdown, followed by appearances in the Australian drama series, Sando, and the voice role of Doris in The Bureau of Magical Things in 2018.
