Maine, also known as "The Maine Attraction", began her professional dance career as a teenager with a job for MTV's Fight For Your Rights Campaign. Since then, she has had the opportunity to perform alongside numerous notable individuals, including legendary artists James Brown and Lionel Richie, popular musicians Jessica Simpson and Pharrell Williams, and renowned burlesque performers Dita Von Tease and Gentry de Paris. Maine's relentless spirit has enabled her to become one of the most celebrated burlesque performers in New York. Her enigmatic presence has made her a muse for several visual artists, including conceptual photographer LaToya Ruby Frazier and multimedia artist Matthew Barney, as well as renowned DJ Tiesto and fashion icons Patricia Field and Marc Jacobs.
Maine's versatility as a performer allows her to transform herself into a wide range of characters, effortlessly fusing elements of sex, comedy, and drama in her performances. Her latest notable role is as herself in Focus' Features' highly anticipated release "Pariah" (2011). She has also starred in leading roles in several indie features, including "Miente" (Cannes and Havana Film Festival),the comedy-horror film "Nefertitty", and the coming-of-age drama "My Normal". Maine's role in "Million In The Mirror", a public service announcement for breast cancer research, recently won the viewers' choice award on the Lifetime channel.
