Malachi Jeffers, professionally known as Je'Von Evans, is an American wrestler currently signed to WWE's NXT brand. Born on April 29, 2004, Jeffers began his wrestling career in 2018 under the guidance of independent wrestler Labron Kozone in North Carolina.
Initially competing under the ring name Jay Malachi on the independent circuit, Jeffers achieved significant success, notably winning the DPW Worlds Championship in Deadlock Pro-Wrestling. He held this title until November 2, 2023, when he vacated it upon signing with WWE.
In November 2023, it was announced that Jeffers had joined WWE, reporting to the NXT brand. He made his debut on February 16, 2024, under the ring name Je'Von Evans, losing to Brooks Jensen on the NXT Level Up episode.
A video package aired on NXT Stand & Deliver, hyping up Evans' debut. On the April 9 episode of NXT, Evans made his television debut, securing a win against SCRYPTS. The following week, he faced then-NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov, ultimately losing but receiving an endorsement from Dragunov after the match.
Evans developed an on-screen friendship with Trick Williams, who had recently become the new NXT Champion, after Williams defended Evans against Noam Dar and Oro Mensah of The Meta-Four. The duo teamed up on the May 28 episode of NXT, defeating Mark Coffey and Wolfgang of Gallus.
On the June 18 episode of NXT, Evans won a 25-man battle royal, earning an NXT Championship match against Williams at NXT Heatwave. However, he was defeated by Ethan Page later that night, after Page challenged Evans to a match, claiming that he was never eliminated from the battle royal due to an attack by Mensah.
