Malayalam film actor, Mammootty, was born to Ismail, an agriculturist, and Fatima, a homemaker, who played a pivotal role in nurturing his early life. He has two younger brothers, Ibrahim and Zakariah, who have often been mentioned alongside him in various contexts. Mammootty's educational background is marked by his attendance at St.Joseph's Thevara, where he laid the foundation for his future academic pursuits. He subsequently enrolled in Maharaja's College, where he honed his skills and prepared himself for the challenges that lay ahead. His academic journey eventually took him to Ernakulam Government Law College, where he earned a degree in law.
It was during his time at Maharaja's College that Mammootty first ventured into the world of cinema, securing a role as an extra (junior artist) in the 1971 film Anubhavangal Paalichakal. This early foray into the film industry marked the beginning of a long and illustrious career, one that would eventually propel him to the status of a top star in the Malayalam film industry of South India, alongside his contemporaries, including the renowned actor, Mohanlal.
