Mamoru Hosoda is a Japanese film director and animator, renowned for his creative vision and innovative storytelling techniques. Prior to establishing his own animation studio, he gained valuable experience by working at Toei Animation and later at Madhouse from 2005 to 2011.
In 2011, Hosoda took the bold step of leaving Madhouse to create his own animation studio, Studio Chizu, where he could fully express his artistic freedom. His entry into the public eye was marked by his involvement in the early 2000s with the first two films in the Digimon Adventure series and the sixth film in the One Piece series.
