Marc Winnick, a native of Los Angeles, was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. As the son of renowned comedian and television writer Jerry Winnick, who boasts an impressive 275 writing credits, Marc was immersed in the world of entertainment from a young age.
Growing up, Marc and his twin brother had the opportunity to perform in several commercials, including Chiquita Banana and Double Mint Gum, laying the groundwork for their future careers.
Marc's formal education took place at Van Nuys Performing Arts High School and UCLA, where he refined his comedic timing and honed his skills in writing, performing, and directing. He was an active participant in various theater competitions, winning awards for his performances in Shakespeare, Improv, and sketch comedy.
After completing his studies, Marc briefly explored the professional world, but ultimately returned to his passion for acting and comedy. He went on to study with esteemed instructors such as Lesly Kahn & Co, UCB Improv, and John Rosenfeld Studios, as well as many others. Marc regularly performed at open mics and with various Improv troupes throughout Hollywood's Indie Improv scene.
In addition to his work in comedy, Marc has had the opportunity to appear in numerous short films and web series. His breakthrough role came when he landed the lead in the sci-fi creature feature Shadow Puppets, alongside James Marsters, Jolene Blalock, and Tony Todd. This success led to further roles in feature films, including Guns, Girls and Gambling and Code of Honor, alongside Gary Oldman, Christian Slater, and Steven Seagal.
When not working on his craft, Marc enjoys writing, playing, and watching sports, particularly baseball. He is an avid fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and has a deep appreciation for pop culture trivia. Marc is also a self-proclaimed "fanboy" who loves all things sci-fi and fantasy, with a special fondness for Star Wars, Marvel, and DC.
