Marcella, a multifaceted and ambitious individual, embarked on her journey in the entertainment industry in San Antonio, Texas, her birthplace. Initially, she found herself working in the International Publicity department for Sony Pictures, where she honed her skills and laid the groundwork for her future endeavors.
As her career progressed, she secured a role as a development executive at the esteemed production company founded by producer Harald Kloser. In this capacity, she collaborated closely with Kloser and his producing partner, Roland Emmerich, on various film and television projects, further refining her expertise and building a network of industry connections.
However, Marcella's passion for filmmaking soon took center stage, and she made the bold decision to leave her secure position to pursue her dream of becoming a filmmaker. Undeterred by the challenges that lay ahead, she founded her own production company, where she could bring her creative vision to life.
One of Marcella's most notable achievements is her short film, My Name is Maria de Jesus, which tells the poignant true story of the Americanization process her family underwent while growing up in Texas. This powerful and thought-provoking film premiered on HBO Latino, and Marcella went on to embark on a national university speaking tour, screening her film and engaging in insightful discussions with students on campus.
In addition to her work in film, Marcella has also received recognition for her writing, earning a nomination for the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Writing in a TV Movie for her work on the film Madres.
