Margarita Valderrama is a multifaceted Colombian-Canadian artist, boasting a remarkable proficiency in both English and Spanish. Interestingly, she was not named after the popular cocktail, and as far as she is aware, she has no connection to Wilmer. Her response to the inquiry "Where are you from?" is a complex one, as she was born in Buenos Aires, raised in Bogotá and Mexico City, and has resided in Toronto for over a decade.
Margarita's impressive repertoire includes her work as a voice actor, writer, and producer. She has lent her voice to various animated, film, and television projects, as well as theatrical productions. Some of her notable voice-over credits include voicing Lia Venegas in Bakugan: Battle Planet and most recently, Lime Chiffon in Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City.
In addition to her voice-over work, Margarita is also an accomplished writer. She is a recent graduate of the prestigious Canadian Film Centre Norman Jewison Writers' Lab and the Reelworld Emerging 20 Film Writing Program. Her first short film script, Date Night, won the ACTRA Toronto Shorts Competition and has received official selection from numerous film festivals across the United States and Canada, including the New York Latino Film Festival and the Philadelphia Latino Film Festival.
Margarita is deeply grateful for the unwavering support and love of her family, including her brothers, who she affectionately describes as a constant source of humor and inspiration.
