Maria Rohm was a rare gem in the movie business, dedicating her life to acting, particularly in theatre and films. As a child actor, she performed on-stage at the renowned Vienna Burgtheatre from ages 4 to 13, taking on iconic roles such as William Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream" and Lev Tolstoy's autobiography "Und das Licht scheint in der Finsternis".
She shared the stage with esteemed German stage actors, including Attila Hörbiger, Paula Wessely, Curd Jürgens, Annemarie Düringer, Heinrich Schweiger, and Judith Holzmeister.
At the age of 18, Maria Rohm auditioned for Harry Alan Towers, marking the beginning of her film career. Towers, captivated by her beauty, cast her as a lead in numerous feature films, and her extraordinary acting abilities soon made her a highly sought-after leading lady across Europe.
Her movie roles took her to over a dozen countries, where she shared the screen with renowned actors such as Frankie Avalon, Klaus Kinski, Christopher Lee, Vincent Price, and Jack Palance.
After decades of extensive traveling and an impressive 30 on-camera movie credits, Maria Rohm decided to join Towers, her now-husband, as a producer. Her extensive experience in the industry revealed an astute businesswoman, and the couple became a powerful force in the independent feature market.
Together, they worked happily until Harry Tower's passing on July 31st, 2009.
In the last 10 years of her life, Maria Rohm, although largely retired from the business, continued to consult periodically in the industry, sharing her expertise and fond memories of the business that brought her together with the love of her life.
