Marian Driscoll, the daughter of a coal miner, was born to Daniel and Anna Driscoll in Peoria, Illinois, a city with a rich history and cultural heritage. As a young adult, Marian pursued her passion for music by giving piano lessons and singing in the choir at her local Catholic church, a place where she developed her musical talents and nurtured her faith.
In 1918, Marian married her childhood sweetheart, Jim Jordan, on August 31st, a day that marked the beginning of a lifelong partnership. Together, they had two children, Kathryn and James, who would grow up to be a part of Marian's professional and personal life.
Marian's greatest professional achievement was during America's golden age of radio, a period that saw the rise of mass media and the development of new forms of entertainment. As "Molly McGee," she played opposite her husband's character "Fibber" in the popular radio comedy "Fibber McGee and Molly," a show that aired from 1935 to 1959 and brought joy and laughter to millions of listeners.
