Her brother, Christopher Heltai, is also an accomplished actor, and the two have likely shared a deep understanding and appreciation for the performing arts from a young age.
Marianne's family ties to the entertainment industry run deep, with two of her sons, Cooper Shine and Sawyer Shine, both pursuing careers in the industry. Cooper is a cinematographer based in Los Angeles, while Sawyer is an actor also based in LA. Her cousin, Yasmina Reza, is a renowned playwright in Paris, adding another layer of artistic depth to Marianne's family tree.
Although she has spent most of her life in the San Francisco Bay Area, Marianne grew up in New Jersey, providing her with a unique perspective on the world. When she's not acting, Marianne is a dedicated Drama Therapist, utilizing her skills to bring about positive change in the lives of others. She has worked extensively with the Marin Shakespeare Company's Social Justice Program, providing Shakespeare-based drama therapy to inmates at San Quentin Prison.
In addition to her work as a Drama Therapist, Marianne has a private practice and is represented by Stars the Agency. She is also an accomplished actress, creating one-woman shows at StageWerx and competing on The Moth, a popular storytelling platform. Marianne will soon appear in a three-part documentary on the modeling industry in Paris during the 1980s, titled "Scouting for Girls."
