Marie, a dual Canadian/American citizen, embarked on a remarkable journey, beginning in Canada, where she spent her formative years.
She later relocated to Manhattan, where she pursued her passion for the performing arts, enrolling at The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre. During her decade-long stint in the city that never sleeps, Marie had the privilege of performing in over thirty plays, both in New York City and at regional theaters across the United States.
Upon her relocation to Toronto, Marie transitioned to the world of film, making her debut in the critically acclaimed American Psycho. Her academic pursuits led her to the University of Toronto's Graduate Center for the Study of Drama, where she earned a master's degree in theatre.
As a respected artist, Marie has had the opportunity to share her expertise as a guest artist at The Banff Center and as a teacher at Braemar College. Her impressive production credits include the Canadian premiere of Tom Noonan's award-winning play What Happened Was... at Canadian Stage's Berkeley Street Theatre, Collected Stories by David Margulies at The Tarragon Theatre, and The Woods by David Mamet.
Marie's remarkable achievements have been recognized with numerous accolades, including a Writer's Trust of Canada grant, a BravoFACT writing grant, and Telefilm Canada's New Voices Award for Emerging Screenwriters. Her short film, Bar None, premiered at The Montreal World Film Festival, while her feature film, Stealing The Sky, made its debut at The Beverly Hills Film Festival.
