Biography

Person Biography:

Born into a family with a strong musical background, Read's father Keith was a member of the rock 'n' roll band The Wild Angels, while his mother Pam was a talented pianist, drummer, and singer-songwriter. This nurturing environment encouraged Read to begin playing piano at the tender age of 2, and by 11, he was already joining his family's band on keyboards, regularly performing in pubs, clubs, and hotels across the country.

Read's early education took place at Auriol Junior School, followed by Epsom and Ewell High School. However, it was at the age of 15 that he discovered his passion for acting, joining the Songtime Theatre Arts group, where he received training and gained valuable experience. He went on to take lead roles in several productions, including Guys and Dolls and Aladdin.

Between the ages of 15 and 18, Read, along with his parents' band, embarked on an incredible journey, performing onboard several P&O and Princess cruise ships, taking him on a global tour that included the historic D-Day 50th Anniversary Fleet in 1994, aboard the liner Canberra.

In his later years, Read continued to showcase his talents, performing A1's hit version of the A-ha song "Take on Me" at Saint Edmund's Catholic School in Dover, Kent, and also at The Astor of Hever Community School in Maidstone, Kent, in 2009.
