Biography

Marta Borges is a professional actress with a career spanning over two decades, dating back to 2001. Prior to pursuing her passion for acting, she attempted to lead a conventional life, earning a degree in Business Communication and working for several years in Lisbon, Paris, Brussels, Rio de Janeiro, and London for renowned advertising, branding, and PR companies such as MullenLowe Lintas Group and Wolff Olins. During this time, she gained valuable experience in coordinating international teams and projects.

However, her heart ultimately led her to follow her true calling: acting. After completing her studies in Drama, she received training in Portugal and abroad and gained extensive experience working with professional theater companies. It was during this period that she discovered her passion for Improvisational Theater, and it was love at first sight.

Marta proudly became the first Portuguese female improviser since 2009 and co-founded the successful Portuguese ensemble Os Improváveis, which has since become a reference in the European improvisation scene. The group has made a significant impact, with over 950 stage presentations and 97,000 spectators. They currently have 10 shows regularly on stage, have undertaken more than 30 international tours, and have worked with 80 corporate clients.

In addition to her work with Os Improváveis, Marta has been traveling the world, teaching, being taught, and performing in various international festivals and theater schools. Some of the notable events she has participated in include Impro Amsterdam, Berlin Impro Festival, DIG Stockholm Festival, Impro Salento, Piombino Festival, Teatribú Milan, Firenze LongForm School, Cambiscena Padova, ICR Riga Latvia, FESTLIP in Rio de Janeiro, Agorapp Italy, Subito Brest, and many more.

As a multifaceted artist, Marta also works as a television and cinema actress, scripted theater actress, voice actress, radio host, and event host. She is a regular business improv corporate trainer, having worked with over 80 national and international corporate clients. Furthermore, she teaches weekly improvisation courses in Lisbon, focusing on vulnerability, emotional, raw, and real choices to connect with scene partners and the audience.

As a native Portuguese speaker, Marta is fluent in English, has a good understanding of French and Spanish, and has a basic understanding of Italian.
