Mary-Jane Wells is multi a-talented artist who has made a name for herself in various fields, including acting, writing, voiceover work, and radio hosting. Born in Scotland, she trained as an actress at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 1998 and later began to make regular trips to Los Angeles in 2009.
Wells has had a successful career in the UK, working in both classic and new productions for theatre and film. She has also performed in various roles, including Electra in David Hare's adaptation of Faust and the Irish lead in Cuchulainn, Hound of Ulster.
In 2009, Wells decided to make a permanent move to LA, where she has continued to work as an actress, winning several awards for her performances. She has also worked as a voiceover artist, providing narration and commercial voiceovers for a variety of projects.
In addition to her acting and voiceover work, Wells is also a writer, having adapted Virginia Ironside's The Huge Bag of Worries for the stage. Her play has run consistently since 2002 in Scotland and has been sponsored by the BBC and the British Council.
Wells is also a radio host, having hosted the Mary Wells Show on KCLAFM, which was described as a mixture of "relevant irreverent feature and talk." She has also worked as an on-camera actress, winning an LA Comedy Award for her work in Divine White's Introduction to Hollywood.
In her spare time, Wells is interested in training and supporting the growth of other artists. She works as a performance reviewer for the National Council for Drama Training in London and has also written a research paper on the breakthrough vocal technique of Dr. Nadine George.
