Matt Macedo, a filmmaker born on January 31, 1994, in the San Joaquin Valley, California, embarked on his creative journey at a tender age.
Between the ages of three and six, Macedo would participate in his step-brother's homemade movies, fostering a passion for filmmaking that would only continue to grow.
At the age of twelve, he began writing short stories, and one of those stories would eventually evolve into his first screenplay, titled "Envision".
In 2011, Macedo's family relocated to Hanford, California, where he honed his filmmaking skills and created a short documentary, "Homeless in Hanford", which poignantly captures the struggles of an individual grappling with addiction and his unique perspective on living homeless in his community.
In 2014, Macedo began production on his film, "Drug of Choice", which showcases the distinct perspective of a teenager addicted to heroin and the traumatic experiences that led to his struggles.
Macedo's dedication to his craft led him to relocate to Los Angeles in 2016, where he attended The New York Film Academy to further refine his skills.
During his time at the academy, Macedo continued to produce short films that would go on to win numerous awards at prominent film festivals, including "Without Regret" and "Our Oceans".
