This early passion for filmmaking only intensified as he pursued a formal education in the art, studying at a prestigious institution and laying the groundwork for a successful career in the entertainment industry.
As a young professional, Palmieri joined the esteemed ranks of MGM, where he played a pivotal role in the development and production of numerous films, including the iconic and critically acclaimed THELMA & LOUISE. This groundbreaking film's impressive box office performance, with a budget of $16 million and worldwide box office gross of $91 million, was matched only by its impressive haul of Academy Award nominations and wins, including the coveted Best Original Screenplay award.
Following his tenure at MGM, Palmieri continued to make a name for himself in the industry, earning an Academy Award nomination for his direction, production, and co-writing of the live-action short film "Cruise Control."
