Matthew Shane Tramel's name is a testament to his cinematic destiny, forged from the iconic cowboys Matt Dillon from "Gunsmoke" and Shane from "Shane". His journey has been marked by venturing into unexplored territory, much like the legendary cowboys who inspired him.
Growing up in Texas, Matthew was a curious and energetic child with a vivid imagination, devouring books, immersing himself in movies, and creating silly skits and interactive games for family, friends, and neighbors. Despite excelling in math and science, which led him to Rice University for civil engineering, his passion for performance remained strong.
Matthew soon discovered a new path, delivering engaging and informative science presentations at the J.P. McGovern Museum of Health & Medical Science, and honing his improv skills with ComedySportz Houston. He also studied acting for film at the Extra Mile Acting Workshop in North Hollywood.
Through workshops, classes, theater productions, professional improv, and roles in indie shorts and features, Matthew continued to refine his craft. He was mentored by accomplished professionals in multiple disciplines, including Mark Ramont, Dianah Dulaney, and Glenn Morshower. Along the way, he developed additional creative skills in photography, writing, and tabletop roleplaying.
Today, Matthew continues to roam the creative landscape of Hollywood, always seeking new projects, stories, and challenges, with an open mind and a steadfast gaze towards the sunset, just like the wandering cowboys who inspired him.
