Person Biography:

Matthew was born in 2002 in West Hills, California, to an Asian mother of Indonesian/Chinese descent and an American Caucasian father of Scotch/Irish/German decent. He grew up in the San Fernando Valley area, in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California.

Matthew began his acting career at the age of six when he auditioned for and was accepted into the Young Actors Conservatory at Gary Spatz's: The Playground in Beverly Hills, California. He had no acting experience at the time, but he had a dream to become an actor and/or singer/entertainer.

Matthew's talent and gift for making people laugh were recognized at a Performance Showcase at The Playground in the summer of 2009, when he was seven years old. He was signed by a talent management company and soon landed his first agent representation, Abrams Artists, for commercial work.

Matthew's early career included numerous student films, independent films, and background work on TV shows such as Ghost Whisperer and Eastwick. He also appeared in several commercials, including one for Trek Livestrong Bicycles and a minor part in a Walmart commercial.

Matthew attended the Kids Professional Program at Gary Spatz's: The Playground, graduating in May 2011. He then landed commercial and theatrical agent representation with Coast to Coast Talent Group and William Morris Endeavor - WME - Los Angeles, representing him for voice over work.

Matthew parted ways with his manager in early 2015 and hired a new manager, Mia Cho, of Vincent Cirrinciones Associates Ltd. talent management firm. He was soon signed by IDEAL Talent Agency for theatrical and commercial agent representation.

Some highlights of Matthew's young career include being invited to and acting as a presenter at the 2010 OMNI Awards for Young Actors & Musicians, being nominated for a Best Actor Award at the 32nd Annual Young Artist Awards for his role in WURM, and starring in a new kids cartoon, voicing the lead character role for Home Plate Entertainment.

Matthew has also guest-starred on numerous hit television series, including iCarly, The Middle, New Girl, The New Normal, and About a Boy. He starred as one of the lead characters, Redford, in the feature film Camp, which was released in February 2013.

Matthew is involved in several charity events, benefiting children, and is proud to help children of all ages with medical needs and disabilities, or from broken homes and families in need of a helping hand. He has participated in numerous charity events, including the CHOC Event to benefit Children's Hospital of Orange County and the Ronald McDonald House Pasadena Walk for Kids.

In his free time, Matthew enjoys swimming, playing with his cousin's dogs, basketball, football, and singing. He and his family go to karaoke on a weekly basis, if time permits. Matthew also loves to visit his grandparents and cousins in the Midwest.
