Biography

Matthew Austin Jordon, a native of the unique Victorian town of Redlands, California, grew up with a passion for martial arts. During his high school and college years, he trained under the guidance of renowned Black Belt Magazine Hall of Fame Instructor Ray Dalke, competing as a member of team USA in the traditional "hard" style of Shotokan Karate, popularized by adventurer Bear Grylls and action star Jean Claude Van Damme. Matt's karate skills earned him success as a black belt in full-contact Kumite competitions in the US and Canada.

Alongside his athletic pursuits, Matt pursued higher education, studying art and business in college. He also joined the creative make-up effects team led by legendary make-up effects artist Tony Gardner at Alterian Inc., where he honed his skills in practical make-up effects, working on notable projects such as "There's Something About Mary" and "Spiderman".

Matt's experience in special effects expanded when he worked as a project leader for animatronics giant Garner Holt Productions, producing animatronics and props for Disney Imagineering. He collaborated closely with notable directors and producers, including the Farrelly brothers, Josh Gordon & Will Speck, Sam Raimi, Jared Hess, John J. Kelly, Tibor Takacs, Avi Lerner, Steve Cannell, Stephen R. Monroe, Mike Mitchell, and David Kirschner.

As a SAG actor, Matt combines his athletic skills and knowledge of special effects to create unique characters. He has donned heavy prosthetic makeup, animatronic, and puppeted suits featuring pneumatics and mechanics, worn various contact lenses, and performed stunts, fight scenes, shoot outs, and morph scenes. His acting coach, Wendy Girard, is a Life Member of The Actors Studio, a Teaching Artist at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert, and an affiliate of The Lincoln Center Institute of Performing Arts.

With his diverse background and adaptability, Matt is willing to take on new challenges, maintaining a professional attitude throughout. His intense martial arts training as a black belt has refined his performance in creature-suit and prosthetic make-up roles, allowing him to excel in physically demanding shoots while maintaining a sense of humor.

Currently, Matt is working on the upcoming sci-fi comedy "Gentleman Broncos" directed by Jared Hess, as well as the Adam Sandler comedy "Bedtime Stories".
