Maurizio Benazzo's odyssey commenced in Italy, where he initially took hold, only to be dislodged in 1984 when he embarked on an extraordinary sojourn, traversing the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean on the historic Leudo "Felice Manin", a 98-year-old Lateen sailboat, which conveyed him to the shores of the United States.
As he acclimated to his new environment, he pursued a multifaceted career, assuming various personas as an actor, model, and filmmaker, yet an insatiable thirst for knowledge gnawed at him, a hunger that remained unslaked until 2001, when he stumbled upon the seminal work "I Am That" by the revered Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, a serendipitous encounter that transpired while he was in India, capturing the essence of the award-winning documentary "Short Cut to Nirvana".
