Max, a talented individual, was born in Leytonstone, London, and pursued higher education at Queens' College, Cambridge, where he studied French and Italian. It was during his school days that he contracted the acting bug at the tender age of 12, when his institution required a diminutive performer to portray Puck in its production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. The enthusiastic admiration he received from the sixth form girls, coupled with the backcombing of his hair, had an indelible impact on him, and he has been hooked on acting ever since.
Max's passion for acting led him to undergo training with the National Youth Theatre and the renowned École Jacques Lecoq in Paris. He has since worked extensively in London theatre, taking on leading roles in the West End and collaborating with esteemed companies such as the Royal Court, Donmar Warehouse, Shakespeare's Globe, Almeida, Young Vic, and National Theatres. His impressive repertoire has earned him an Ian Charleson award, a testament to his outstanding talent.
In addition to his impressive stage presence, Max has also made a name for himself in television, playing memorable roles such as Robert Southwell, a messianic martyr, in Will for TNT, and Monk Adderley, a notorious rake, in Poldark for the BBC. His film credits include Brown, a privileged junkie, in Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen, and David, a charming individual, in the Oscar-winning Bohemian Rhapsody.
