Meera Simhan was born in London, England, and her early years were shaped by her family's relocation to India and eventually Southern California, where her parents established a business importing jewelry and handicrafts from India.
Growing up, Meera was exposed to the rich cultural heritage of India, as she studied Indian Classical Dancing with the Shakti School of Bharatanatyam and later attended the prestigious Kodai Kanal International Boarding School in India at the age of eight. She returned to California to complete her high school and college education in Orange County.
Meera's passion for the performing arts led her to pursue further education at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA),where she honed her craft and began her professional career in England. Her early roles included playing Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and she went on to appear in numerous productions in British theater and television.
After returning to Los Angeles, Meera continued to work as an actress, taking on various roles in television and film, including guest starring and recurring roles. As a writer, she created and performed her solo theater piece, Miss India America, in numerous theaters across the United States.
Meera has also collaborated with her actor/writer/director husband, Ravi Kapoor, on several projects, including the feature film Miss India America (2015),which they co-wrote together.
Today, Meera resides in Los Angeles with her husband, two children, and their beloved dog, Elvis. Additionally, she holds a Master's degree in Psychology, demonstrating her commitment to personal and professional growth.
