Meera Vasudevan was born on January 29, 1982, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to a Tamil Brahmin family. She is the eldest daughter of Vasudevan and Hemalatha. Meera pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and English literature and began her career as a successful model, appearing in numerous ad films.
Her entry into the film industry was through the 2003 Hindi satirical film "Rules: Pyaar Ka Superhit Formula" alongside Milind Soman, followed by her Telugu film "Golmaal". She made her Tamil film debut in the same year with "Unnai Saranadainthen", directed by Samuthirakani, alongside Venkat Prabhu and S. P. B. Charan.
Meera's portrayal of Bobby, an adamant village girl, in "Unnai Saranadainthen" earned her the Tamil Nadu State Film Special Award for Best Actress. She then stepped into the Malayalam film industry in 2005 with "Thanmathra" alongside Malayalam superstar Mohanlal.
Her performance as Lekha Ramesan, a housewife and mother of two children, received rave reviews and fetched her the Best Female New Face Award at the 2005 Ujala-Asianet Awards. Meera has since appeared in numerous Malayalam-language films, including "Ekantham", "Valmeekam", "Khaki", and "Oruvan".
She has also worked in Hindi films, including "Jaadu Sa Chal Gayaa", "Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii", and "Thodi Life Thoda Magic" in 2007. Meera has been a part of several commercials, including Videocon Internet TV with Shahrukh Khan, Deven Khote Fair & Lovely, and Rajiv Menon ICC World Cup Cricket Rangoli.
Her upcoming projects include "Aattanayagan" alongside Sakthi Vasu and Remya Nambeeshan, and "Thasaiyinai Thee Sudinum", a periodic film set in the 1940s.
