Mela is renowned for her captivating portrayal of Emma in the critically acclaimed short indie drama Split Costs. This poignant film tells the story of two young women from diverse backgrounds who embark on a journey to western Massachusetts, where they face traumatic setbacks that force them to make life-altering decisions at a crossroads that neither of them could have foreseen. The film's outstanding screenplay earned it numerous accolades, including Best Screenplay at the 2016 Destiny City Film Festival, Best Drama and Best Overall at the 2016 Women's Only Entertainment Film Festival, as well as an Audience Choice Award at the 2016 Bluestocking Film Series. Mela's impressive feature film credits include her roles in Sony's blockbuster Men in Black 3, Honora's Hits, and Cine Mosaic's The Sisterhood of Night. Her television credits include MTV's I Just Want My Pants Back, as well as a guest appearance on NBC's popular drama series Blue Bloods.
