Melantha's fascination with performance began at the tender age of six, as she embarked on a classical ballet journey that would span several years, her early teens marking the culmination of this formative period. The rush of adrenaline that came with taking the stage by storm only served to further ignite her passion for acting, ultimately leading her to enroll in her secondary school's dramatic arts program. These early performances not only cemented her ardor for the craft but also laid the groundwork for a lifelong pursuit.
Fast forward to 1999, when Melantha brought forth the enigmatic Countess Bathoria, a web character born from her deep-seated love for the horror genre. Almost overnight, the character and its accompanying website garnered a devoted following, and it wasn't long before Melantha found herself taking on the role of a vampire in an independent film.
Since then, Blackthorne has left an indelible mark on the big screen, her indie film success paving the way for appearances in Hollywood blockbusters. Over time, she has continued to hone her craft, effortlessly transitioning between a wide range of film genres. In addition to her work in front of the camera, Melantha has also demonstrated her versatility by taking on roles behind the lens, serving as producer, director, and editor of three feature films.
