Melody Nosipho Niemann was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, to a South African Zulu mother, Jabulile Dladla, and a German-born father. Her parents shared a passion for singing and choral music, and as a result, Melody was named after this shared interest. She was born with the rhythm and vibe of South Africa in her veins, and her mother's influence as a founding member of the world-famous 'Soweto Gospel Choir', winning two Grammy Awards and touring internationally, made it natural for Melody to be a performer from a young age.
Melody began her career in the entertainment industry at the tender age of 5, signing with a talent agent and quickly booking commercials. She transitioned to television and movies, discovering her intense passion for acting. Her first role was in the feature film "Spontaneous", starring Katherine Langford, and she soon booked her first supporting-lead role in Hallmark's "A Gingerbread Romance", starring alongside Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Duane Henry.
Melody's subsequent roles included a supporting lead role in Hallmark's "A Family Christmas Gift", starring alongside Patti Labelle, Holly Robinson Peete, and Dion Johnstone, as well as a role in Paramount's "Sonic The Hedgehog", starring alongside Jim Carrey, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Natasha Rothwell. She has also appeared in "DC'S Legends of Tomorrow" (CW),"The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" (CW),"Just Add Romance" (Hallmark),and "Upside-down Magic" (Disney),and has had a recurring voice role on the children's animated series "Chip And Potato".
When not acting, Melody enjoys singing live on stage, walking the fashion runway, and spending time with family. She is also an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying soccer, swimming, tennis, hiking in the local mountains, and spending time at her favorite beaches.
Throughout her career, Melody has received numerous nominations and awards for her performances, including a prestigious 'Joey Award' for her role as 'Jojo' in "Sonic The Hedgehog". She has also been recognized at the 'The Joey Awards' in Vancouver and the 'Young Entertainers Awards' in Los Angeles.
