Merritt Russell Yohnka, a talented individual, was born on April 1, 1958, in Chebanse, Illinois, to Marilyn and Norm Yohnka. He grew up with a strong foundation, which later contributed to his success in various endeavors.

In 1982, Merritt embarked on a new adventure, landing a starring role in the "Wild West Stunt Show" at Knott's Berry Farm in southern California. To supplement his income, he took on a part-time job as a security guard, demonstrating his versatility and dedication to his craft.
The popular soap opera, Days of Our Lives, which premiered in 1965, featured an episode centered around "The Wagon Camp Stunt Show" at Knott's Berry Farm. Merritt's impressive performance caught the attention of the show's creators, leading to a recurring role as Joey from 1984 to 1992.
Throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, Merritt worked on numerous TV shows and films, showcasing his exceptional stunt skills. His hard work and dedication earned him several award nominations, and he was ultimately recognized for his outstanding contributions to the stunt coordination on the television series Chuck, receiving Emmy Awards in 2008 and 2009.
In 1992, Merritt met his future wife, Cindy Yohnka, while filming a car commercial, where they played husband and wife. Their on-screen chemistry translated to real life, and they tied the knot in 1996. The couple welcomed three children, Emily, Steven, and Garrett, and resided in Sherwood Forest, Los Angeles County, California.
Merritt's 24-year marriage to Cindy was a testament to his commitment and love for his family. Tragically, he lost his battle with cancer in 2020 at the age of 62, leaving behind his wife, children, parents, siblings, and a large extended family.
