Michael Alban's childhood was marked by a strong sense of adventure, spent exploring the rolling hills and scenic landscapes of Westminster, Maryland, a mere thirty-minute drive from the historic Gettysburg Battlefield in Pennsylvania. Summers were filled with camping trips, where he would join his two sisters and maternal grandparents, who hailed from Pennsylvania Dutch heritage. His paternal grandfather, from County Cork, Ireland, and maternal grandmother, from French descent and raised near Walton Mountain in Western Virginia, brought a rich cultural tapestry to the family's experiences.
Growing up, Michael's parents played a significant role in shaping his future. His mother, Phyllis, worked as a baker, while his father, Michael Roy, was a skilled telephone technician. Michael's educational pursuits led him to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in English from Towson University, situated just north of Baltimore.
Beyond his academic achievements, Michael's passion for music shone brightly. He was an accomplished musician, having toured extensively with the band Jonasay, and even taught music lessons to a notable student, current CBS Face The Nation host John Dickerson. His musical talents also led him to sing with several opera companies in Baltimore. An early stint as an extra on the film He Said, She Said sparked his interest in working on film sets, ultimately leading him to pursue a career in acting.
