Michael Barbuto is a multifaceted individual who wears many hats, including those of an actor, producer, and writer. Born in Toronto, he pursued his passion for theatre by earning a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre from the University of Guelph in 2003. His academic achievements did not go unnoticed, as he was subsequently accepted into the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Hollywood, California.
During his time at the Academy, Barbuto honed his acting skills by performing in numerous plays and eventually joined the elite Company program in 2005-2006. It was during this period that he had the opportunity to star in the North American Premiere of Aaron Sorkin's remake of "A Few Good Men".
Barbuto's subsequent career has been marked by a wide range of notable roles. He starred as Lane Stanley in the hit sitcom "The Stanley Dynamic" on YTV from 2014-2017, and has also appeared in several Hallmark Channel Original Movies, including "Banner 4th of July", "Collision", and "A Shoe Addict's Christmas". His impressive resume also includes guest starring roles on Lifetime's "Sherri" and FX's "Nip/Tuck".
In addition to his acting credits, Barbuto is also the founder of Hogtown Productions, a company that has produced a diverse range of feature films, television shows, and award-winning shorts. One of his most notable projects is the critically acclaimed horror film "Happy Camp", which was co-produced with Drew Barrymore and Flower Films, and released across North America last year. Barbuto not only penned the script but also starred in the lead role.
Hogtown's other feature credits include "Bleed Out", which starred Barbuto alongside Nichole Cordova, and "Ash Global", a half-hour comedy series that Barbuto wrote and co-starred in alongside Adam Rey, Maronzio Vance, and Lorenzo Lamas.
Currently, Barbuto is a regular on the highly anticipated "Big Top Academy", a co-production between Cirque de Soleil and Discovery Kids. He is repped by Butler Ruston Bell Talent.
