In the year 1996, DiPaolo made a deliberate departure from his traditional creative endeavors to spearhead and direct a spellbinding dance program for European television, ingeniously christened "BALLETS WITH A TWIST".

Niagara Falls, New York, a picturesque city situated on the majestic Niagara River, played host to the humble beginnings and formative years of DiPaolo, a talented individual who would later blossom into a distinguished artist.

DiPaolo's academic journey did not end with the completion of his undergraduate studies, as he went on to further his education by pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Video from the esteemed Hunter College in New York City, a renowned institution that is highly respected for its academic excellence and cutting-edge programs in the arts.

In 1979, Shepherd took the bold step of directing a feature-length, improvised film, aptly titled "SOPHA", marking the inception of a long-standing and fruitful creative partnership with DiPaolo that has endured for decades, yielding a multitude of innovative projects and fostering an extraordinary level of mutual understanding and admiration between the two visionary artists.

After a brief yet significant stint as a freelancer, DiPaolo embarked on a new chapter in his career, shifting his focus towards producing and directing fashion videos. This marked the beginning of a nearly decade-long journey, spanning from 1977 to 1985, during which he had the privilege of working on a wide array of projects.
