As the owner and operator of Gier Productions, LLC, Michael has established himself as an award-winning director and producer. His full-service production company has produced a wide range of projects, including TV commercials, corporate videos, nonprofit videos, short films, feature films, and documentaries.
As a singer, Michael has had the opportunity to perform in Branson, Missouri, for four years as a featured soloist at the 2,300-seat Lawrence Welk Champagne Theatre, alongside The Lennon Sisters, a 20-piece orchestra, and numerous other original Lawrence Welk television stars. His impressive resume also includes appearances in three nationally aired Lawrence Welk television specials, the release of an album, and live performances on the nationally aired Jerry Lewis "Stars Across America" MDA telethon.
Michael's career has been marked by several notable highlights, including his role as an actor and principle dancer in FatBoy Slim's music video "Praise You," directed by Academy Award-winning director Spike Jonze. The video's immense popularity led to Michael performing "Praise You" live with FatBoy Slim at the MTV Music Awards in New York on September 9, 1999, where the video won three out of four awards it was nominated for. Additionally, during the 2001 MTV Music Video Awards, "Praise You" was named the number one video of all time by MTV viewers.
In 2003, Spike Jonze released a short film entitled "Torrance Rises," starring Michael and the other members of the fictional Torrance Community Dance Troupe, bringing his extensive experience and talents to the big screen once again.
