Michael Kinney is a highly accomplished Director, Writer, and Producer, renowned for his exceptional work in crafting international commercials for prominent global brands such as Snickers, Ford, and DirecTV, among many others.
Following the completion of his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Florida, Kinney went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree in Film Production from the University of Southern California's (USC) Graduate School of Cinema-Television.
During his time at USC, Kinney was involved in the story department of New Regency Films, located on the 20th Century Fox lot, where he was responsible for tracking studio projects and reviewing spec scripts for potential acquisition.
Upon graduating, Kinney began writing action films for Roger Corman's New Concorde Productions. His screenplays have garnered numerous accolades, including first place in Fade In: Magazine's annual competition, as well as a recent set-up for an action-thriller spec at Warner Brothers.
For a period of five years, Kinney served as the Head Writer and Supervising Producer at Current TV, the cable network founded by Al Gore. Additionally, he functioned as the Supervising Producer for Spike TV's reality show "Auction Hunters," which became the highest-rated program in the network's history.
Furthermore, Kinney was the Supervising Producer, Director, and Writer for the second season of "I'm Alive," a one-hour show on Discovery's Animal Planet. He has also directed and produced several independent feature films, including his latest, "The Good Die Young."
