Michael, an Academy member and active member of the U.S. Motion Picture Sound Editors Association, as well as a member of The Society of Authors, partnered with renowned director Tony Scott in the late 1980s at West London's Film-Photo Design Studio.
During this time, Michael worked on a variety of notable titles, including the sci-fi classic "Aliens," the romantic comedy "Romancing the Stone," the thriller "The Holcroft Covenant," the epic drama "Out of Africa," and the conspiracy thriller "The Whistle Blower."
Michael's impressive resume also includes writing and directing the period drama "Katherine of Sinai," which boasted an all-star cast featuring Peter O'Toole, Edward Fox, Steven Berkoff, Joss Ackland, and Brian Blessed, among others.
In addition to his work in film, Michael developed an innovative 35mm film stock called "Colour Reversal" with Agfa, which was first tested on James Cameron's "Aliens" and received widespread acclaim.
Throughout his career, Michael has accumulated an impressive 17 awards, including accolades from the World Peace Cannes, SOCHI International Film Festival in Russia, and Women in Films (USA),among others.
Despite his own success, Michael's true passion is promoting young talent in the film industry. He is deeply troubled by the lack of opportunities faced by many young filmmakers, citing issues such as high insurance costs, limited mortgage options, and a general lack of support from government and businesses.
Looking ahead, Michael is currently working on a new action spy movie, slated for release in 2019-2020, in collaboration with US/Bulgarian co-producer and Doctor of medicine Zlatina Filipova, who has quickly become Bulgaria's most prolific film producer, having launched four larger budget titles in a remarkably short period of time.
