Biography

Michel Fugain, a renowned French singer and composer, was born on May 12, 1942, in Grenoble, Isère. After abandoning his pursuit of a medical degree, Fugain discovered his passion for composition and went on to release his debut album, Je n'aurai pas le temps, in 1967. The album's title track, "If I Only Had Time," was later recorded in English by John Rowles, further cementing Fugain's reputation as a talented artist.

In 1972, Fugain founded Le Big Bazar, a troupe of singers and dancers that experienced significant success, including the hit single "Une belle histoire." Fugain's work extended beyond Le Big Bazar, as he contributed to various projects, including the soundtrack for the film Un jour, la fête. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Fugain continued to thrive as a solo artist, touring extensively and making regular appearances on radio and television shows dedicated to chanson and popular music.

Following a hiatus in his career, Fugain resumed his artistic endeavors in 2005 and launched the project Pluribus in 2013. Despite facing personal challenges, including the loss of his daughter, Fugain's unwavering dedication to his craft has allowed him to maintain a successful and enduring career in the world of French music.
