Biography

Miguel Llansó, a visionary filmmaker with a profound affinity for experimental-punk-weird music and films, embarked on a captivating and multifaceted journey, drawing parallels with the illustrious careers of the esteemed Jean Rouch and Werner Herzog, after having studied philosophy and cinema with great fervor.

Miguel, a renowned filmmaker, has frequently chosen Ethiopia, a country that holds a special place in his heart, as the primary location for his cinematic endeavors. He has often collaborated with his close friends Yohannes Feleke and Israel Seoane, with whom he has co-created several remarkable projects. Two of their joint ventures, "Where is my dog?" and "Chigger Ale", made their debut at the prestigious International Film Festival Rotterdam and the equally esteemed Locarno, before going on to be showcased at numerous prominent film festivals around the globe. These festivals included BAFICI, Tampere, Hamburg, and over 50 other international events, such as the renowned Sundance, Milano, Brussels, Rio de Janeiro, Odense, and many more.

Miguel's inaugural feature film, Crumbs, is a thought-provoking and visually stunning post-apocalyptic Afro-Futuristic adventure that transports viewers to the captivating landscapes of Ethiopia. This critically acclaimed masterpiece made its world premiere at the prestigious Rotterdam International Film Festival, and its subsequent screenings at esteemed events such as Fantasia and the Los Angeles Film Festival cemented its status as a standout in the world of independent cinema.

As a testament to its widespread appeal, Crumbs has been showcased at over 100 film festivals around the globe, a remarkable feat that underscores its universal resonance and artistic merit. The film's distribution rights are represented by New Europe Film Sales, a leading international sales agency, which has secured a theatrical release for Crumbs in both the United States and Spain.

Miguel's sophomore feature film, "Jesus Shows You the Way to the Highway", a thought-provoking Sci-Fi political satire, was brought to life through a production that spanned four countries - Ethiopia, Estonia, Latvia, and Spain.

This cinematic masterpiece premiered at two prestigious festivals, Fantasia and Neuchatel Fantastic Fest, providing a platform for Miguel to showcase his distinct filmmaking style and artistic vision to a global audience.
