Yefremov has been married four times and has six children with his four wives. His first wife, Asya Vorobieva, was an editor, and their son, Nikita Efremov, is an actor at the Sovremennik Theatre. His second wife, Evgeniya Dobrovolskaya, was an actress, and their son, Nikolay Efremov, is also an actor. His third wife, Kseniya Kachalina, was an actress, and they have a daughter named Anna Mariya. His fourth wife, Sofiya Kruglikova, is an audio engineer, and they have three children: daughters Vera and Nadezhda, and a son named Bori.
In addition to his acting career, Yefremov has also presented the Channel One show "Zhdi Menya" since 2009. The show is dedicated to finding long-lost relatives and friends. He has also collaborated with poet Dmitry Bykov on the project "Citizen Poet." Yefremov reads poems written by Bykov, which are satirical comments on contemporary Russian society, politics, and culture. Each poem parodies the style of a famous poet from the past, such as Pushkin, Nekrasov, and Kipling. The show was originally broadcast on the Dozhd TV channel but was later moved to the Echo of Moscow radio station due to the critical nature of the poems towards the Russian government.
