Miko Revereza's artistic endeavors have consistently revolved around themes of family and the complexities surrounding the documentation of immigrants, a personal topic that resonates deeply with his own life story. His father, who hails from the Philippines, defied the odds by illegally entering the United States in 1990, when Miko was merely two years old. The circumstances surrounding his father's arrival have undoubtedly had a profound impact on Miko's perspective and artistic trajectory.
Three years later, Miko's mother joined his father in the United States, bringing her own unique experiences and perspectives to the family dynamic. Despite the challenges that his family faced, Miko's parents instilled in him a strong sense of determination and a passion for creative expression.
In contrast to the traditional academic path, Miko Revereza eschewed the conventional route of pursuing an undergraduate degree, instead opting to dive headfirst into the world of fine arts by pursuing his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree at the prestigious Bard College.
