Milo Shandel is a renowned actor and director whose illustrious career has spanned numerous stages across North America, as well as film and television screens globally. He is perhaps most recognizable for his portrayal of the pompously clueless "Principal Tater" in the YTV/Disney XD hit youth sitcom Mr. Young, for which he received three consecutive nominations for the Leo Award for best performance in a program for youth or children.
In recent years, Shandel has appeared in numerous Hallmark movies and television shows, including Batwoman, A Million Little Things, and The Baby-Sitters Club. His feature film credits include Bong-Jo Hoon's Okja and the upcoming Ryan Reynolds movie, The Adam Project.
As a director, Shandel has helmed multiple episodes of youth sitcoms, including The Stanley Dynamic and Some Assembly Required, for which he received a Leo award nomination for best director. In 2021, his DGC Greenlight fund-winning short film, Quarantine Fling, is set to be released.
Shandel's career in the theatre began with performances on stages across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, showcasing his range in productions from Shakespeare to ABBA. His six-year run as Bill Austin "The Awesome Aussie" in the North American Tour of Mamma Mia! entertained hundreds of thousands of audience members.
Shandel also spent time at The Stratford Festival in Ontario and is a proud graduate of Ryerson Theatre School. He and his wife, actress and writer Christine Oddy, reside in Vancouver with their three wonderful sons.
