Mimi Sagadin, a native of Chicago, embarked on her acting career in the early 1990s by training in improv at the esteemed Players Workshop of the Second City, the original training ground of Second City. She subsequently performed in children's shows on the main stage of The Second City and co-founded the "clean comedy" improv and sketch troupe Mission IMPROVable, which toured throughout the Midwest for eight years.
In 2007, Sagadin had the privilege of working with Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Ken Davenport on the Off-Broadway production of "The Awesome 80's Prom" in Chicago, where she played the quirky high school drama teacher, MRS. L, for a consecutive period of fifteen months.
In 2010, Mimi was cast in Provision Theaters' Jeff-nominated play "The Hiding Place" as concentration camp prisoner, Eva Schuman. The same year, she was hand-picked by Oscar-winning director Ron Howard to portray Vince Vaughn's secretary in "The Dilemma" alongside Jennifer Connelly, Kevin James, and Winona Ryder. Although her character was featured in numerous scenes, all were ultimately cut from the final version of the film.
However, her breakout role occurred later that same year, when she was cast as Corrie ten Boom, the renowned Dutch hero of the Holocaust, in the true-story, World War II drama "Return to the Hiding Place" (2013). The film, which co-starred Emmy-nominated John Rhys-Davies, won over nineteen awards, including Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Cinematographer, and Audience Choice, from various film festivals across the country.
Recognizing the significant influence media has on culture, Sagadin is passionate about performing in films that positively impact audiences. Her notable roles include "Princess Cut" (2015) alongside Jenn Gotzon Chandler and Ashley Bratcher, "Halfway" (2017) with Quinton Aaron and Jeffrey DeMunn, and the Vietnam War drama "Summer of '67" (2018).
