Miya Cech, a talented American actress, was born and raised in Northern California with her three siblings. Her early beginnings in print modeling as a toddler sparked her interest in television and film, leading her to land her first guest star role at the tender age of eight.
In this breakout role, she played Young Kono Kalakaua, the character of actress Grace Park, on the hit CBS series Hawaii Five-0. This marked the beginning of her journey in the entertainment industry.
In 2018, Miya took on a significant role as "Zu" in Fox's film adaptation of the bestselling book series, The Darkest Minds, alongside Amandla Stenberg and Harris Dickinson. This critically acclaimed film was an adaptation of the #1 New York Times Best Selling book series written by Alexandra Bracken.
Following her success in The Darkest Minds, Miya went on to secure recurring roles on popular shows such as American Horror Story and American Housewife. In the latter, she portrayed Ali Wong's precocious youngest daughter, Marigold.
In 2019, Miya starred in two of Netflix's most popular original films. She played Young Sasha in Always Be My Maybe and Zhen Zhen in Rim of the World, directed by McG. This year also saw her take on the lead role of Akiko Yamato in Nickelodeon's re-imagined Are You Afraid of the Dark.
In 2020, Miya led the popular kids/teens series The Astronauts, playing the lead character Samy Sawyer-Wei. This series was produced by Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, and Imagine Entertainment.
As an Asian American adoptee, Miya is deeply passionate about representation and telling authentic stories through her work. In her free time, she enjoys exploring her creative side through art, cooking, and gardening.
