M.J. Kang, a remarkably gifted and accomplished individual, was born in the vibrant city of Seoul, Korea, where her earliest years were spent surrounded by the rich cultural heritage and traditions of her homeland.

As her life unfolded, M.J.'s family made the decision to relocate to the diverse and cosmopolitan city of Toronto, Canada, where they would start anew and build a life filled with opportunities and experiences.

In Toronto, M.J. was joined by her parents and two older sisters, with whom she would grow and develop into the talented and multifaceted person she is today.

M.J.'s impressive martial arts skills, honed through dedication and perseverance, have earned her the prestigious title of third-degree taekwondo black belt, a testament to her remarkable abilities and accomplishments in this field.

As a coach, M.J. has utilized her impressive martial arts skills to lead numerous sparring competitions, guiding her students and team members with expertise, wisdom, and enthusiasm.

M.J.'s parents played a pivotal role in laying the groundwork for the Heritage Language Program, a pioneering initiative within the Toronto Board of Education, which has since thrived and grown to become a comprehensive language instruction program that offers a vast array of over sixty languages to students absolutely free of charge.

This upbringing had a profound impact on M.J., fostering in her a deep and abiding appreciation for the diverse facets of her own identity, as well as a strong and unwavering commitment to supporting others in their own journeys of self-discovery and cultural exploration, as they strive to embrace and celebrate their unique identities.

As a result of this upbringing, M.J. has developed a profound sense of empathy and understanding for the experiences of others, and is deeply passionate about creating a world where individuals from all walks of life can come together and celebrate their differences, rather than letting them divide them.

Her parents' legacy continues to inspire M.J. to this day, and serves as a reminder of the power of education to break down barriers and bring people together, regardless of their background or cultural heritage.

In recognition of her parents' tireless efforts to promote linguistic and cultural diversity, M.J. has dedicated her own life to supporting and empowering others, and continues to be a powerful force for good in her community and beyond.

M.J. has had a remarkably successful and distinguished career, marked by a string of notable and recurring roles on numerous television programs, with a particularly impressive stint on the widely acclaimed Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.

M.J.'s remarkable achievements have resulted in a nomination for the esteemed Dora Mavor Moore Award, Toronto's most prestigious professional theater award, thereby making her the first Korean-Canadian playwright to be produced professionally in Canada, a truly groundbreaking milestone.

Her abiding passion for theater has driven her to take the stage on some of the world's most renowned stages, including those in New York, London, Berkeley, Toronto, Montreal, and Winnipeg, where she has featured in numerous award-winning productions, cementing her status as a talented and accomplished performer.
