Mo Fry Pasic is a multi-talented individual who has made a name for themselves in the entertainment industry as an actor, writer, and comedian. Prior to discovering their passion for comedy, Mo had a successful career in Division One Volleyball, earning accolades as an All-American and Junior Olympian. After retiring from the sport, Mo began studying improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) in 2014, followed by performances at The Annoyance theater, where they were part of original sketch and comedy shows and house teams.
Mo's journey into stand-up comedy was inspired by friends and took place in the alt comedy Brooklyn scene, where they met lifelong friends and creative collaborator Tim Platt. The duo, known as "Pasic and Platt," has been praised by Time Out New York as "Titans of subversion" for their unique style of semi-improvised and surrealist dark comedies.
In addition to their work in comedy, Mo has also explored their passion for acting, collaborating with New York playwrights Julia Mounsey and Peter Mills Weiss on the play "50/50 Old School Animation." This critically acclaimed production, which debuted at the Jack Theater in 2016, was featured in the 2018 and 2019 Under The Radar festival at The Public and toured Europe, including stops in Munich, Germany and England.
Mo's performance in "50/50" was met with widespread critical acclaim, with Howard Shaw of The New Yorker describing their performance as "Virtuosic" and Ben Brantley of The New York Times writing, "There is boundless pain and self-hatred at the heart of Ms. Pasic's performance."
Despite the success of "50/50," Mo's bi-monthly stand-up comedy show "Trine" at the Freehand Hotel, co-hosted with Sudi Green and Bowen Yang, was forced to close due to the pandemic. However, Mo used this time to focus on their acting career and move to Los Angeles.
Mo is also a certified Reiki Master and Theta Energy Healing practitioner, and uses their knowledge of astrology and divination practices to inspire new creations and ways to heal through art. They are a proud advocate for survivors of sexual assault and are openly queer and gender fluid.
Mo's latest work, "Worse Than You," debuted at the Elysian Theater in Los Angeles on June 30th, 2023, and is directed by their friend and collaborator Sudi Green.
