Mohammad Reza Sharifinia is a multifaceted Iranian artist, recognized for his impressive career as both an actor and film producer. His professional journey began with a brief appearance as a university professor in the movie Pari, directed by Dariush Mehrjooi. This initial foray into the world of cinema paved the way for his subsequent involvement in the 1991 film Avinar, helmed by S. Asadi.
Beyond his acting credits in various films and television series, Sharifinia has demonstrated his versatility by taking on a wide range of roles behind the camera. He has worked as a producer, assistant director, cinematographer, casting director, and photographer on numerous projects. His breakout role in the 1995 film Imam Ali, directed by Mir Bagheri, catapulted him to fame.
Prior to embarking on his acting career, Sharifinia graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts. He went on to marry the renowned Iranian actress Azita Hajian, with whom he had two daughters, Mehraveh and Melika. Both of his daughters have followed in their parents' footsteps, establishing themselves as accomplished actresses in their own right, with notable appearances in prominent Persian series.
However, in December 2010, after nearly two decades of living separately, Sharifinia and Hajian filed for divorce, bringing an end to their marriage.
